First
Carousel Ride
Her eyes glisten
with excitement
reflecting the lights
of the jeweled
carousel.
She smiled in delight
and a touch of pink
flushed her cheeks
as she stretched her tiny arms
trying to mount a painted pony
while still clutching
a worn and fuzzy teddy bear.
Her hair blew freely
and her cotton ribbon
dangled precariously
as the carousel revolved
and she waved shyly
as she passed by me.
You could hear her laughter floating
on the breeze like a butterfly
in flight lilting and rhythmic.
The sweetness
of the moment
captured forever in my heart.

Write a poem for the Birthday Bash July Poem
Contest,
"In Celebration of Friendship ~ The Garden's
Fifth Birthday".
GOF Friendship
I have some
friends I’ve never really met;
we got connected on the Internet.
In the Garden of Friendship they were found
for this is the place where friendship abounds.
GOF garden gates have been open five years
and so we celebrate with laughter and cheer.
My GOF friends are dear to my heart;
much joy and happiness do they impart.
Some are helpful with HTML
and some cheer me up when I don’t feel well.
Some sprinkle sunshine on my day
or shower me with gifts for the holiday.
Some keep me rolling on the floor
with funny happenings and jokes galore.
They take notice if I'm too quiet to long
and they make me feel that I really belong.
The Garden of friendship is a wonderful place
where love and friendship are commonplace.
One of the things that I like the best
is that here in the garden love never seems to rest.
