Dear Diary,

Tonight as I look up where the celestial bodies should be I see only darkness. I stare in disbelief and wrap my arms around myself in a comforting embrace. I hear only my own footsteps echo hollowly, and see only a faint red glow along the horizon. Shadows are deepening around me and engulfing my mind. The silence is deafening, even swallowing up the sound of my own heartbeat.  I stand godforsaken, yearning for another soul to pacify my loneliness.
