APRIL POETRY CONTEST

Write a poem about the following picture
(30 line limit)

Memories Aired

April's laundry airing on the clothes line;
an assortment of odd socks
unearthed during spring-cleaning
from disheveled corners of the house
bearing remnants of another day.
Some betray signs of wear, stained with life;
one or two seemingly untouched.
Reminds me of faded memories
still hanging in the recesses of my mind
collecting dust, until gently shaken out
for a brief saunter through the past.

KINDRED PASSION

The attraction subtle,
like cat hair on fresh laundry.
Drawn together;
strangers
with kindred spirits.
Sharing briefly
a passion for poetry.
Leaving
a lifetime impression.

TODAY AND ALWAYS

I love you today as much
as when we first met.
With as much excitement
as when we first held hands.
With passion as intense,
as when we first made love.
I love you today,
as much and more than
the whispers of yesterday.
I love you with
the expectation of tomorrows
and the joy of today.
The autumn of our love
as vibrant and refreshing
as new and spectacular
as when we first pledged
our hearts and joined hands.
