OCTOBER POETRY
THEME
Take the last
line of Dylan
Thomas', "Do
not go gentle into
that good
night"
and write your own
poem.You should
begin your poem
with:
Rage, rage
against the dying of
the light.
Maximum of 20 lines
or 200 words
Murder Charge
Rage, rage
against the dying of
the light
but your rage will
fall on deaf ears
Eternity lost to you
who would not bend.
As the heavens and
earth are swallowed
in darkness;
the sun blotted from
your vision
let the fire of your
anger keep you warm,
light your path.
Rage, rage
against the dying of
the light
destroyed by your
own hands, your own
gluttony.
Rage, but it is too
late for your
salvation.
Stewardship of the
planet was in your
hands.
Not guilty you say,
but If you did
nothing to protect
it
then death stains
your hands as well.
Rage, rage
against the dying of
the light
But your rage will
fall on deaf ears
Eternity lost to you
who would not bend.
As the heavens and
earth are swallowed
in darkness;
The sun blotted from
your vision
Let the fire of your
anger keep you warm,
light your path.
Rage, rage
against the dying of
the light
Destroyed by your
own hands, your own
gluttony.
Rage, but it is too
late for your
salvation.
Stewardship of the
planet was in your
hands.
Not guilty you say,
but If you did
nothing to protect
it
Then death stains
your hands as well.
